Semi-Permanent Lashes
- What are lash extensions?
They are individual, long-lasting lashes. Extension eyelashes are applied directly to your clients natural lashes using medical grade semi-permanent adhesive. This gives natural lashes the appearance of being thicker and longer.
- How many individual eyelashes will I use per application?
There are many factors to be taken into consideration when applying extensions. Your client consultation will determine thickness and style of application. Generally a full set will require up to 40-120 lashes per eye for a basic natural set.
- How long will the extensions last?
When applied properly and with proper care, extensions will adhere for the entire cycle of hair growth, approximately 4-8 weeks depending on the individual. Natural eyelashes shed on a regular basis, resulting in multiple extension loss on any given day. When the natural lash is shed, the synthetic lash will fall with it. Touch-up applications will be necessary 2-4 weeks to maintain a full lash line.
- What after care instructions should I provide to my clients?
Do not cleanse eyes, shower, swim, use a steam or dry sauna for at least 12, preferably 48 hours after procedure for proper bonding.
- Can I apply extensions to clients if their natural eyelashes are tinted a dyed?
Yes. You may apply extensions to tinted lashes. We recommend waiting 24 hours between services. Be sure lashes are clean, oil free and dry before applying extensions.
Nail enhancements
- Does the application of artificial nails damage your natural nail?
Damage to the natural nail form of any artificial nail enhancement is not caused by the enhancement but instead it is caused by improper nail preparation and application. Natural nail damage can be caused by over filing on the natural nail bed with a hand file or a drill. Drilling on the natural nail plate is the number on cause of damage to the natural nail due to the heat and friction from the drill.
- Is acrylic stronger than gel?
Acrylic’s strength is more durable and gel’s strength is more flexible.
- How is acrylic removed?
Acrylic must be soaked off in acetone
- How is gel removed?
Gel must be filed off or it must grow out.
- How long should it take to do a full set of artificial nails?
1 – 1 ½ Hours depending on experience of the nail technician.
- What causes lifting?
Improper nail preparation/Applying product too close or on the cuticle/Product applied too thick or too thin.
- Should cuticle oil be applied after application of nail enhancements?
Cuticle oil is extremely beneficial for rehydrating the clients cuticles after nail enhancement application.
Waxing
- How long does it take before the hair grows after waxing?
Typically between 3 to 6 weeks however hair will grow faster in the Summer.
- How do you prevent ingrown hairs?
With daily use of a Loufa sponge and or an exfoliant product may help with the reduction of ingrown hairs.
- Does waxing promote hair growth?
No, in fact it reduces hair growth and reduced regrowth to baby fine hair.
